Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and operation of five (5) water systems within the County. All of the water is from groundwater sources and they are permitted by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).
Two of the water systems are classified as "Community Water Systems" namely Mt. Zion / Rustic and Wayside, which have 88 and 141 connections, respectively.
